CARLA RUSSELL  Lead Vocalist

Carla Russell is a well known singer in the Muscle Shoals, AL recording industry, and live music scene in North Alabama and Southern Tennessee.  Her vocal influences vary from Classic Rhythm & Blues, Soul to Rock & Roll such as Aretha Franklin, Mavis Staples, Etta James, Otis Redding, Big Mama Thornton, Janis Joplin, Robert Plant and Ann Wilson.

In addition to KOZMIC MAMA, Carla also performs with “The Muscle Shoals All Star Band”, which includes members of the legendary “Swampers Rhythm Section”.  They’ve performed with an array of internationally known artists and at many prestigious events including “The Alabama Music Hall of Fame” induction ceremonies. 

Carla Russell has recorded with producers Rick Hall, Rodney Hall, Johnny Sandlin, Jimmy Johnson, Bob Ezrin, Jimmy Nutt, Mark Harrelson, Mike McGuire, Bud McGuire and more!  Here are just a few of the artist’s albums she’s recorded on:

MATT "dog" SHOOK  Lead Vocals-Keyboard, Piano
Hammerin! Mr.Charisma and Soul! Matt Shook grew up in Atlanta Georgia where he performed with Ted Nugents "Derek St. Holmes" band, Fragile and Choice. His influences include; Keith Emerson, Rick Wakeman, Doors, James Brown, Ray Charles, Jerry Lee Lewis, Led Zepplin, Chopin, Beethoven, Debusy, Shubert, Police and Billy Preston.


Matt Shook & Carla Russell sang on the USA Network Television series "THE BIG EASY."

 


BOBBY LOVE  Drums-Vocals-Songwriter
The Love Child Bobby Love got his first drum kit at age 7 and formed first band at age 10. He went to college on music scholarship. Won best instrumentalist award.

Bobby Love performed with CBS-Epic recording artist/songwriter "Terry McNiel" in Black & Blue, and T-Mac. 

Bobby's influences are, Keith Moon, Elvis Presley, John Lennon, Otis Redding and all drummers that write and sing!

 


JIMMY CLAY  Bass Guitar-Vocals
Jimmy Clay Jimmy Clay is just as solid as they come. He performed with "Cornelius Brothers & Sister Rose," "Baker & Myers" and "Revolver." His influences include James Jamerson, The Beatles, The Beatles, The Beatles, and oh yeah...THE BEATLES!!!!

 


MATTHEW ENNIS  Guitars, vocals
  Both parents being musicians, Matt Ennis was exposed to music at an early age.  He studied classical guitar and theory at UAH and also performed in jazz band at Calhoun College.  Matt has performed with many bands around North Alabama.  His influences include Warren Haynes, Danny Gatton and Santana.
